Week 6 + 7




The past 2 weeks I’ve designed more asteroids for our game to help flesh out the replay-ability and randomness of each gameplay, something that we want to show off for our Vertical Slice. Such ideas for the asteroids implemented: -Bomb asteroid: destroys all asteroids on screen. -Crystal Asteroid: gives you a health bar back.
Other asteroids designed are because of the evolution of vision of the game! Where we are leaning into cosmic horror. The longer you stay alive in the game, the weirder it will get, so I designed 2 monster asteroids that can be included in our vertical slice to show this change in the games tone. It is only a small display of what we will add in future.
I also coded the starting menu and pause menu- they are just the Unity basic buttons for now, ready for when the UI assets are complete. Most likely not going to be a part of our Vertical Slice.
The scope of our game is changing a bit, the game’s premise is simple so it’s easy for us to build up more and more. The idea we want to add in future is a boss fight after two monster asteroids combine, to make the game more unique.
