Week 3 - James

For this week, the theme we were given was corrupted vision. I interpreted this as meaning that it corrupts the visuals for the player. I worked on ensuring that I have a working glitch effect that distorts the player's view when they make a mistake.
I changed my prototype so that asteroids now collide with each other and break, and that negatively impacts your score, and if you let the red asteroids hit each other, it causes the glitch effect to happen. I also added a power-up, which grows your reticle, letting you shoot more of the screen. I removed the previous mechanic of being able to control an asteroid for now, as I wish to implement it better, as the feedback I received was not massively positive.
In the future, I plan to develop a lot more. Currently, there is a slight sense of danger and urgency for the player, although the negative impacts do not feel as intense as they should. There is also not much depth to the game, which I wish to develop further, to give it a Unique spin on the already successful Multidirectional shooter genre.

Future additions:

Improved UI and UX

Win/Loss conditions, or just Loss conditions with a constantly increasing score.

Unique mechanics/spins on the genre.
