Week 2
Group 12 Week 2 Devlog - Each member wrote a devlog to show how we prototypes assets and new gameplay ideas. The theme was control so we all focused on different aspects of control.
Amy:
I created some art assets to use in my prototype. To show the feel of the game, and to contrast with TJ’s art to gain feedback on what kind of art style people would prefer in our game. I drew an alien from an idea that randomly there could be aliens on the asteroids and when the asteroids are destroyed these aliens will shoot off and if you hit them they’re worth extra points!

TJ:
For my prototype I based it off the pet shop game idea, but I wasnt able to do it very well due to my limited coding expierence. The idea was you would be given 3 different tasks you had to perform to make the pet happy. Paint its nails, remove the arrow from its side and polish its crystals. You would have 3 different tools to perform these tasks. I made the assets and tried to implement it into unity but it didnt work well, so next week I will just work based off of the astroid shooter prototype.

James:
During this week, I began work on a prototype of our asteroid shooting game.
I wanted to try and work on the visuals of shooting the asteroid, so I worked on a small particle system for more visual feedback. Along with this, we were given the theme "Control", and this gave me the idea to create a prototype of a potential power up where you become an asteroid, and can hit the other asteroids out of the screen for extra points.
